Description

Examine the Origins of Heel and Foot Pain
This webinar outlines the structures that stabilize the foot and support the arch and demonstrates how poor gait mechanics lead to heel pain syndrome. We will discuss how muscle imbalances lead to hypomobility, trigger points, and myofascial entrapments. Lastly, participants will be provided with a progression of manual therapy techniques to treat heel and foot pain.

THOMAS K. BERTONCINO, PhD, ATC, is a certified athletic trainer with over 17 years of experience in the health care field working in the hospital, clinical, high school, university, and professional sport settings. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Athletic Training where he serves as the Department Chair of Athletic Training at Park University located in the Kansas City area. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Athletic Training from Pittsburg State University and his Master of Science with an emphasis in biomechanics and exercise physiology and Doctorate of Philosophy with an emphasis in higher education policy and leadership from the University of Kansas.
