Description

Preparing Any Athlete for Peak Performance
Many medical professionals who work with athletes understand how specific systems work—muscles, bones, and joints for example—but they may not fully grasp how the body's chemistry can be manipulated through body work. Even practitioners who understand massage may not understand the difference between preparing the athlete for an event and helping them recover afterward.

This course clearly defines the unique body structure and performance goals of diverse athletes and the sports or events in which they compete. Get an in-depth review of biochemistry, kinesiology, and cellular metabolism; and discuss how these concepts play critical roles in athlete performance. Examine muscle structure, fast and slow twitch fibers, and how to increase blood flow and performance to achieve maximum results. In addition, discover how the Krebs Cycle affects performance and endurance, and how to keep the athlete in the aerobic cycle for longer periods to significantly increase performance. This practical and valuable knowledge is coupled with 3 hours of hands-on lab, where participants practice various modalities that can be used on any athlete immediately.
