Description

In the past decade, increasing trends on Adult Children of Alcoholics (ACOAs) and Adult Children of Family Abuse (ACOFAs) have shed critical light on family trauma resulting from parents or sibling alcoholism and drug abuse. Following a behavioral approach, this comprehensive webinar provides an evidence-based model for understanding and treating ACOAs and ACOFAs.

We will begin by focusing on assessment and the high-risk signs of client symptoms that have evolved from gradual effects of punishment. The course will then emphasize the relapse prevention methods for ACOA/ACOFA symptoms as well as examine cognitive-behavioral interventions for recovery management and the prevention of family sabotage.

Participants will receive a supplementary handout full of additional information and resources to utilize in practice following the Webinar.
