Cognitive restructuring is the process by which therapists help clients to identify, evaluate, and, if necessary, modify unhelpful thoughts, images, and self-statements. This webinar will provide a step-by-step illustration of techniques to work with unhelpful cognition in CBT. Webinar participants will gain an understanding of the rationale and purpose of cognitive restructuring, as well as strategies for implementing specific cognitive restructuring techniques with clients.

Amy Wenzel, PhD, ABPP, Related seminars and products


AMY WENZEL, PhD, ABPP, is a licensed psychologist in private practice, owner of Wenzel Consulting, LLC, and Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. She is the author or editor of 14 books, many on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and has published approximately 100 journal articles and book chapters. Dr. Wenzel has provided intensive training to approximately 200 masters and doctoral level clinicians in CBT, and lectures internationally on the delivery of CBT for a variety of clinical presentations. Dr. Wenzel is board certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology and a diplomate of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy. She previously held leadership positions in the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies and is currently on the scientific advisory board of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
