Description

Common Drugs and a Not So Common Epidemic

Due to the aging population and their multiple comorbidities, 9 out of 10 patients over age 65 are taking one or more medications compared with 1 in 4 patients just 30 years ago. Because dentists will be seeing an increasing number of patients taking 1 or more of 20 common medications, it is important to become familiar with the interactions between dental treatment and these commonly prescribed medications. Elements of dental treatment with potential for interactions with medications can include: Diabetes, High cholesterol, and High blood pressure. Not to mention, we are experiencing an increasing Opioid epidemic.

This course, taught by brilliant speaker and clinician, Dr. Eric Bornstein, will take you through the top 20 most common drugs, interactions, contra-indications, and prescribing rules and best practices. Enhance your knowledge of these topics, and be prepared to protect your patient and yourself from liability and potential malpractice related to Opioids and Anxiolystic prescriptions.
