Description

Elder Care Involves the Ability to Address Spirituality & Mindfulness in a Respectful Manner
Spiritual or religious issues often surface during the course of clinical care of elder consumers. With specific spiritual clinical tools and frame of reference, behavioral health professionals can assess and address spirituality, mindfulness, and religious issues with the level of professionalism that these topics require.

This webinar gives care providers a framework by which to respond to existential, spiritual, and/or religious issues. Participants enhance their skills for discerning healthy vs. unhealthy religious practices, identifying personality disorders that emanate from distorted beliefs, and communicating with clients about issues and crises that arise in later life. Dr. Lou Bordisso draws on both personal and professional experience to introduce guidelines and strategies that allow the clinician to broach these sensitive topics in an effective manner.
