Exposure is the systematic contact with a feared stimulus or situation, and it is the cornerstone of the cognitive-behavioral treatment of anxiety disorders. This webinar will provide a step-by-step illustration of techniques to facilitate exposure with anxious clients. Webinar participants will gain an understanding of the rationale for and purpose of exposure, as well as hints for maximizing exposure's effectiveness and applications of exposure to specific anxiety disorder diagnoses.

Amy Wenzel, PhD, ABPP, Related seminars and products


AMY WENZEL, PhD, ABPP, is a licensed psychologist in private practice, owner of Wenzel Consulting, LLC, and Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. She is the author or editor of 14 books, many on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and has published approximately 100 journal articles and book chapters. Dr. Wenzel has provided intensive training to approximately 200 masters and doctoral level clinicians in CBT, and lectures internationally on the delivery of CBT for a variety of clinical presentations. Dr. Wenzel is board certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology and a diplomate of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy. She previously held leadership positions in the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies and is currently on the scientific advisory board of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
