As mental and behavioral health professionals, we may feel challenged to stay positive, engaged, and joyful in our personal and professional lives. Sometimes clinicians start to experience symptoms of burnout due to life imbalance, client relational issues, or workplace stresses.
This webinar draws attention to the warning signs of burnout, and what distinguishes it from compassion fatigue. Dr. Brancaleoni delves into the personal and professional factors that contribute to burnout and shares proven strategies for mitigating the effects of these factors. Her presentation also addresses therapeutic relationship and treatment challenges with clients based on their specific clinical presentations.

1. Mind-Body energy care: replenishing and nourishing yourself at work and home
2. Work boundaries: work/life balance
3. Client boundaries: empathy, countertransference, and compassion fatigue
4. Social supports and compassion satisfaction
D. Anticipating and Addressing Burnout Factors with Specific Clinical Presentations
1. Defeated, pathology-focused clients (depression, substance use, etc.)
2. Intense, overwhelmed clients (anxiety disorders, trauma, PTSD, etc.)
3. Defensive, avoidant, or demanding clients (borderline and other personality disorders, attachment and relationship disorders)
