Description
Increase your knowledge of dangerous adverse medication events and reactions to satisfy Best Practice Guidelines!
Theoretically medications get better over time to target symptoms while minimizing side effects. The reality is that practitioners MUST remain cognizant of medications' side effects and dangerous adverse reactions. This becomes especially complex when polypharmacy is the norm. Did you know that more than 1000 OTC and prescription compounds can cause or exacerbate extrapyramidal side effects? You will recognize several of these medications, some of which are currently being implicated in class-action lawsuits around the country. This webinar will also explain reasons for the FDA Black Box Warning (BBW) for medications that induce suicidal thinking and others that dangerously prolong the QTc Interval. If you are involved at all in the prescribing, administering, dispensing, or teaching of medications, it is the standard of care that you maintain current knowledge of these issues.
