Description

Examine Atypical Antipsychotic Drugs and their uses outside Schizophrenia
This webinar will introduce participants to the uses of atypical antipsychotic drugs outside their use in treating schizophrenia. With each new generation, these drugs more efficiently separate efficacy in schizophrenia from the production of unwanted extrapyramidal side effects. This allows exploration of wider use, finding utility in treating autistic behaviors, personality disorders, resistant depression, resistant anxiety disorders, and more. The actions, uses, and side effects of each major agent including Clozapine, Risperidone, Paliperidone, Olanzapine, Quetiapine, Ziprasidone, Aripiprazole, Iloperidone, and Lurasidone will be compared and contrasted to each other as well as other drugs used to treat the same conditions. Antipsychotic drugs and their effects on diabetes will also be discussed.
