Description

Play Therapy is Not Just About Collecting Toys, But Carefully Selecting Appropriate Ones
There are various approaches used in setting up a play therapy playroom. Research suggests that rather than simply collecting toys, the play therapist must select practical, logistical, and culturally sensitive materials. This allows the child the freedom to engage in the many therapeutic powers of play.

This webinar will provide an overview of the suggested lists of materials used for setting up your play therapy playroom. Participants will review the three categories of toys. Filial session ingredients and tote bag playrooms will be presented to participants who are working "on the road," going into homes, and teaching caregivers to enhance their relationships with their child. Problems in the playroom will also be discussed.
