David O. Draper, Ed.D, A.T.C.,


DR. DAVID O. DRAPER, Ed.D, A.T.C., is one of the world's foremost experts on the topic of therapeutic modalities, and he has served as an educator in the field for nearly 30 years. His development and application of modality techniques has hastened the recoveries of high performance athletes and injured patients for years through his work in the Olympics, professional ice hockey, collegiate sports, and physical therapy clinics.

An avid researcher, Dr. Draper has published over 100 publications in scientific journals, such as the Journal of Athletic Training (JAT) and Journal of Orthopedic Sports Physical Therapy. Several of these articles were awarded the Outstanding Research Manuscript by JAT. His textbook with Dr. Ken Knight, Therapeutic Modalities: The Art and Science, is popular among physical therapists, chiropractors, and athletic trainers. On the national level, he has been honored as the top researcher in the nation by the NATA (the fifth person to receive this honor). Dr. Draper is also a research Fellow of the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) and has been named "Most Distinguished Athletic Trainer" by NATA. He has delivered over 300 presentations at seminars and professional symposiums in the U.S., Brazil, Scotland, Korea, China, and Japan. Dr. Draper is currently a professor of sports medicine/athletic training at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.
