David M. Pratt, PhD, MSW
DAVID M. PRATT, PhD, MSW, is a licensed psychologist with over 35 years of experience as a mental health professional working with youth, families, and adults. Presently, he is the Director of the Mood Management Program (MMP) at the Western New York Psychotherapy Services, a private practice group in Amherst, NY. He is currently on faculty with the SUNY Buffalo School of Social Work, Office of Continuing Education, and a member of the New York State Office of Mental Health Evidence-Based Treatment Advisory Board. Dr. Pratt is the retired Principal Psychologist at the Western New York Children’s Psychiatric Center, where he developed the Mood Management Program (MMP), an evidence-based treatment program for depressed and suicidal youth. Dr. Pratt has conducted clinical research supporting the effectiveness of the MMP and has presented his findings at professional conferences.
Dr. Pratt is retired from his positions as Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Adjunct Professor in the Department of Counseling School of Educational Psychology at SUNY Buffalo. Dr. Pratt has conducted professional trainings on CBT treatment for depression and anxiety at local, state, national, and international forums, and is known for his engaging training style.
