LANNY BUTLER, MS, OTR, CDP, CPAM is founder and President of IATB Dementia Care, a private consulting group on Dementia Possible Care giving. He lectures throughout the United States on Dementia Possible Care, and is author of My Past Is Now My Future: a Practical Guide to Dementia Possible Care. Mr. Butler holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of North Dakota and an Advanced Master of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy for the University of Puget Sound. Throughout his more than 40 year career as an Occupational Therapist, Mr. Butler has provided treatments in multiple clinical settings ranging from a Maximum Security Prison to Neonatal intensive care units.
Mr. Butler has primarily treated the Geriatric population for the past 30 years in the outpatient, acute care, and long term care setting. He has served as a Clinical Resource Specialist for Rehab Management Inc., a long term care provider, for the past 9 years. He continues to provide ongoing staff training, clinical competencies, and program development in multiple aspects of geriatric care and has incorporated an interdisciplinary effort among the therapists he serves. The focus of his work has been the enhancement of clinical excellence for those who serve the geriatric population. Mr. Butler has provided education and training in Dementia Possible Care to over 25,000 clinicians and caregivers. He has lectured throughout the United States and in Scotland on Administrative and Clinical topics.
