Rita Spak, MS, CTRS, ACC, C


RITA SPAK, MS, CTRS, ACC, CDP, is a recreational therapist with 30 years' experience in the adult and long-term care field. Nationally certified as a Recreation Therapist, Activity Consultant and Dementia Practitioner, Ms. Spak has managed Recreation and Activity Services along the continuum of care—from independent living, assisted living, rehabilitation and boarding home, to skilled nursing, psychiatric and long-term care. Ms. Spak is a well-known international, national and state speaker on various topics of aging. The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) cited her work in its webcast for the new regulations. Her unique intervention-based programs have been very well received. Ms. Spak is an item writer for the national boards for Recreational Therapy as well as the author of a series of manuals on Activity Programming. She also has produced and hosted several cable television series on aging. She presently owns her own consulting firm, providing expertise to the public and private sectors.
