Samuel Knapp, EdD, ABPP,


SAMUEL KNAPP, EdD, ABPP, is a licensed psychologist in Pennsylvania with over 40 years of experience, including 27 years as the Director of Professional Affairs for the Pennsylvania Psychological Association. He has given more than 300 professional presentations, written or edited 18 books, 12 book chapters, over 100 peer-reviewed articles, and over 300 non peer-reviewed articles related to psychology. Dr. Knapp was senior editor for the APA Handbook on Psychology and Ethics; and co-author of the ethics textbook, Practical Ethics for Psychologists: A Positive Approach (now in its second edition). He was given the first award from the APA Ethics Committee for promoting ethics education among psychologists in 2009, and received the first Lifetime Achievement Award in Ethics Education in 2014. For the last 19 years he has coordinated an Ethics Educators' Conference in Pennsylvania. Dr. Knapp has taught numerous undergraduate and graduate psychology courses at Millersville University of Pennsylvania and Pennsylvania State University, along with ethics courses in the psychology doctoral programs at both Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and Lehigh University. He is known for his down-to-earth style of presentation and sense of humor.
