Shelley Sysum, PsyD, M


Shelley Sysum, PsyD, MSW, is a psychologist and licensed clinical social worker with over 13 years experience in counseling. She currently serves as an outpatient psychologist with Foote Hospital in Jackson, Michigan, where she specializes in the treatment of panic, generalized anxiety and OCD with patients of all ages. Ms. Sysum's career has also included work in a children's residential facility, a national laboratory EAP and a variety of community intervention programs. She has spoken for groups ranging from 10 to 500, including presenting research at an American Psychological Association conference. Ms. Sysum received a Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, and a Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology from Wheaton Graduate School in Illinois. Her instructional style intertwines humor, education, clinical vignettes and personal experiences. She is interactive and practical, leaving behind audiences who feel more equipped to lead their clients toward positive change.
